Andy Boyle Wins Uncharted Contest

HWA Chicago member Andy Boyle was a co-winner in Uncharted’s novel excerpt contest, judged by Meg Ellison. The prize is for his novel-in-progress What the Living Carry. Ellison said, “Tension, uncertainty, and stakes are immediate in this excerpt. This writer has figured out how to accelerate the human pulse and make the risks seem very real. Cinematically rendered and aware of itself within the genre, this one shows real skill and crafts a trap for the reader.”
