Maria Foncesca-Gonzalez
Maria Fonseca-Gonzalez is an inspiring writer and a public librarian who has served the south suburbs of Chicago for over a decade. Throughout her library career, she has specialized in teen services, creating engaging book clubs, art programs, library comic-cons, and other community-centered events. She is a member of the Horror Writers Association’s Library Advisory Council and the Illinois Library Association, and holds a Master’s degree in Library Science.
When she’s not at the library, Maria is immersed in horror in all its forms. She’s usually buried in a great book, on the edge of her seat watching a terrifying film, or braving a jump-scare–filled video game. Her favorite subgenres include folklore horror and supernatural/paranormal stories. You can also find her tabling at local conventions selling art or presenting panels on horror, readers’ advisory, and the power of connecting readers with the stories that haunt them long after the final page.
